About Blacksite

Blacksite is one of South East Queensland's best-regarded indoor gel blaster venues. Ask around the local scene and you hear the same thing: the crew who run it know what they're doing, and players keep coming back. It's a dedicated close-quarters battle (CQB) field built indoors at Hillcrest, just south-west of Brisbane.

The play is fast and tight. You're clearing rooms, holding doorways and cutting corners, so games come down to movement, comms and reflexes rather than long-range fire. The field doesn't sit still, either. The rooms, maps and game types get rebuilt regularly, with a mix of close quarters and more open space, low-light scenarios, and objective games like push-and-hold and team missions. Turn up a month apart and you'll play two different fields.

Being fully indoors, the weather never gets a vote. Games run through rain, heat and the depths of winter, which makes it one of the more reliable days you can book in the region. It also suits just about everyone: first-timers can grab a rental and learn the ropes, regulars get a proper game every week, and seasoned CQB players get the kind of speed and pressure that's hard to find on an outdoor field. Groups, birthdays and private bookings are all part of the mix.

Getting There

Blacksite is at 40–44 Johnson Road, Hillcrest — south-west of the Brisbane CBD and an easy run for players across Logan and the southern suburbs. Being indoors and central, it's one of the more accessible dedicated venues in SEQ.
