FAQ – Help & Info

General

What is Red Spear Armory?

Red Spear Armory is an online marketplace for gel blasters, parts, accessories and related gear. It connects hobbyists, shops and fields so they can buy and sell equipment in one place, while following Australian laws and safety rules. We provide the platform, structure and rules. Individual sellers are responsible for their own listings, prices, communication with buyers and legal compliance in their state or territory.

Is Red Spear Armory a shop or a marketplace?

Red Spear Armory is a marketplace, not a single shop.
That means:

  • Multiple independent sellers list their own items
  • Private hobbyists, shops and fields can all sell here
  • You deal directly with the seller for questions, payment and shipping

We do not hold stock, set prices or handle payments for sellers.

Who am I actually buying from?

When you buy through Red Spear Armory, you are buying from an independent seller. This may be a private hobbyist, a shop or a field. Each listing clearly shows who the seller is. You can contact them directly through the site to ask questions, confirm details etc. Payment through our website here for your safety. Your purchase contract is between you and the seller, not between you and Red Spear Armory.

Buying on Red Spear Armory

How do I buy something on Red Spear Armory?

To buy something on Red Spear Armory:

  1. Browse the listings and open the item you are interested in.
  2. Read the description carefully, including photos, condition, included accessories and any notes from the seller.
  3. If you have questions, use the message option on the product page to clarify details with the seller (for example condition, upgrades, postage or pickup).
  4. When you are ready to purchase, click “Add to cart” and proceed to the checkout.
  5. At checkout, confirm:The correct item(s) are in your cart. Quantities and options are correct (if applicable). Shipping method, cost and delivery address are correct
  6. Complete payment using one of the available payment methods shown at checkout.
  7. You will receive an order confirmation email. The seller will then package and ship your item and should provide tracking details once it has been dispatched.

Red Spear Armory provides the marketplace and checkout so that payments and commissions are handled in one place. The individual seller is still responsible for the item, its condition, and fulfilling your order.

Is payment handled through Red Spear Armory?

Yes. Payment for your order is processed through the Red Spear Armory checkout.

You add items to your cart, complete checkout on our site, and pay using one of the available payment methods (for example card or other supported options). Once payment is successful, your order is passed on to the relevant seller, who is responsible for packing and shipping your item.

Red Spear Armory acts as the marketplace and payment middle man. We collect payment, deduct the marketplace commission of 12.5%, and arrange payouts to the seller. The seller is still responsible for the item, its condition and fulfilling your order.

How do I know a seller is legit?

No system is perfect, but there are simple steps you can take to reduce risk:

  • Read the listing carefully and look for clear, detailed descriptions and photos
  • Ask questions about condition, upgrades, chrono performance and what is included
  • Ask for extra photos of the exact item, including wear, markings and accessories
  • Confirm the final price, postage cost and shipping timeframe in writing
  • Use traceable payment methods and avoid sending money in ways you cannot recover

If a seller refuses reasonable questions, will not provide photos, or pushes you to rush payment, it is safer not to proceed.

What if there’s a problem with my purchase?

Your purchase contract is between you and the seller, so any issues must be addressed directly with them first.

If something goes wrong:

  • Contact the seller immediately and explain the issue clearly
  • Share photos or video if the item is damaged or not as described
  • Try to agree on a reasonable solution such as a partial refund, full refund or replacement, if appropriate

Red Spear Armory cannot refund you or force a seller to act, but we can:

  • Review reports of serious issues, scams or rule breaches
  • Warn, suspend or remove sellers who do not follow our marketplace rules

This platform does not operate as an escrow, dispute resolution service or financial intermediary.

Legal & Safety

Are gel blasters legal everywhere in Australia?

No. Gel blaster laws are different in each Australian state and territory, and they can change over time.

Depending on where you live, gel blasters may be:

  • Legal with some conditions
  • Classed as imitation firearms
  • Restricted or banned
  • Subject to licence or permit requirements

Every buyer and seller is responsible for checking the current laws in their own state or territory, and for any state they ship to. Information on this site is general only and is not legal advice.

How do you handle age restrictions (18+)?

Gel blasters are intended for adult hobby use. By using this marketplace, sellers agree they will:

  • Only sell to buyers who are 18 years or older
  • Follow any additional requirements that apply in their state or territory (for example ID or licence checks)
  • Refuse a sale if they have reason to believe the buyer is underage or not legally allowed to purchase the item

Buyers confirm they are 18+ and legally allowed to own the items they purchase. Providing false information is the responsibility of the buyer.

Do I need eye protection?

Yes. Proper eye protection is essential for everyone involved in the gel blaster hobby.

You should wear suitable eye protection whenever you:

  • Play at a field or skirmish event
  • Test, chrono or sight-in a blaster
  • Let someone else try your blaster

Using appropriate safety gear greatly reduces the risk of serious injury and helps keep the hobby safe and sustainable for everyone.

Do you provide legal advice?

No. Red Spear Armory does not provide legal advice.

Any information on this site about laws or regulations is general in nature and may not reflect the latest changes. It is not tailored to your personal situation and must not be relied on as legal advice.

If you are unsure about the legality of owning, selling or shipping a gel blaster or related item in your area, you should check official government sources or speak with a qualified professional.
