5 - Payments and marketplace model
Yes. From March 15th, 2026, all marketplace item payments are processed through RedSpear's Shopify checkout. We collect the buyer's payment, hold it until the item is confirmed as delivered, then transfer the seller's payout to their PayID within 48 hours. Payment data is handled by Shopify and its payment providers — we do not store full card numbers.
Sellers pay 5% on sale. The 5% covers Shopify's payment processing fee (~1.75% + 30c) and our platform fee (~3%). Buyers pay the listed price — no additional buyer fees.
Transaction records are held for as long as required for legal, tax, and dispute resolution purposes — typically 7 years in line with Australian tax obligations. Card numbers are never stored by RedSpear — these are handled entirely by Shopify's payment infrastructure.
