How We Tested SummerCat Pink SV Gel Balls

Quick Answer: This is a dated, first-party RedSpear test record for SummerCat Pink SV grown in distilled water. In this single E&C MK18 setup, the 3-hour sample produced the highest in-range sorter result: 91 of 100 gels measured between 7.15 mm and 7.35 mm. This is one transparent test record, not a guarantee that every gel, colour, grow time, blaster or condition will produce the same result.

What We Tested

Gel and water

SummerCat Pink SV, grown in distilled water.

Grow checks: 3, 6 and 12 hours

Blaster setup

E&C MK18 AEG, Rizer X hop-up and 120 spring.

Barrel: 7.3 mm stainless steel

Test record

Tested 03 August 2026 indoors and target distance at 20 m.

Target: 1,200 × 800 mm box with a drawn 600 × 600 mm square

How the Test Was Run

Each grow-time sample was kept separate. At 3, 6 and 12 hours, 100 gels were removed from the distilled water and passed through the SummerCat gel ball sorter. The sorter result recorded how many fell between 7.15 mm and 7.35 mm, below 7.15 mm, and above 7.35 mm.

1Grow and sample. Pink SV gels were grown in distilled water. A fresh 100-gel sample was taken at each of the three recorded grow times.

2Sort by measured size. Every 100-gel sample passed through the sorter. Only gels measured between 7.15 mm and 7.35 mm moved into the firing test.

3Fire the in-range sample. Twenty in-range gels were fired at 20 m indoors. Average FPS, hits on the drawn 600 × 600 mm square and grouping were recorded.

What this record shows: In this specific setup, the 3-hour sample had the highest measured in-range proportion and the tightest recorded group of the three samples. The table describes the observed test only. It does not establish a universal grow time, accuracy guarantee, FPS guarantee or result for another blaster, barrel, hop-up, colour, water source or playing condition.

Choosing a Colour You Can Track

Colour is a visibility choice, not an accuracy claim. For outdoor play against forest backgrounds, Pink SV can be easier to follow in flight than green or jade. For indoor play with bright or white walls, darker colours may be easier to see. Choose the colour that helps you track the gel against the background where you play.

Limits of This Test

  • This is one dated test with one E&C MK18 AEG configuration and one 7.3 mm barrel.
  • Each sorter sample contained 100 gels; each firing sample contained 20 in-range gels.
  • The test was indoor at 20 m. The results do not claim to represent outdoor wind, different targets or every style of play.
  • Only Pink SV grown in distilled water was tested. Other SummerCat colours and grow sizes are not represented by these results.
