RedSpear Approved Gel Blaster Techs (Queensland)
Finding a good gel blaster tech in Queensland is harder than it should be. Most people rely on word of mouth, a Facebook post, or a tip from someone at the field — and sometimes that works. Sometimes it doesn't. RedSpear Approved Techs exists to make it easier. Every tech listed here is Queensland-based, active in the community, and someone we're comfortable pointing players toward.
This isn't an open directory. We don't list anyone who asks. These are techs we've spoken to directly, whose work is known and respected in the QLD scene. If you're buying a used blaster and want it gone over before you run it, or you've got an upgrade you need installed right, these are the people to call.

What Makes a Tech "RedSpear Approved"?
The criteria are straightforward. A tech has to be Queensland-based — no interstate referrals. They have to be active and reachable, with a track record in the community and a clear process for quoting, turnaround and communication. We don't guarantee their work, and we're not their booking agent — but we wouldn't list someone we wouldn't send our own blasters to.
Specifically, every listed tech meets the following:
- Queensland resident, operating within QLD
- Verifiable community presence — known in the local scene, not anonymous
- Responsive to enquiries within a reasonable timeframe
- Clear on scope before starting work — no mystery bills
- Experienced across common platforms (AEG gearbox work, hop-up tuning, feeding systems)
If a tech falls off the radar or their standards slip, they come off the list. Simple.

What to Expect When You Contact a Tech
Every tech works differently, but here's what a normal job looks like. You reach out, describe what you need — repair, upgrade install, full service, or diagnosis — and the tech gives you a quote before they touch anything. No surprises on the bill. You either drop it off locally or send it via tracked post in a padded case. Work gets done. You get it back with a rundown of what was done and why.
For upgrade installs, have the parts ready or be willing to purchase through the tech if they're supplying them. For repairs, give as much detail as you can upfront — what the blaster is doing (or not doing), when the issue started, and what's already been tried. The more useful info you give, the faster the diagnosis.
Turnaround times vary. Most techs are one-person operations running alongside full-time jobs — they're community members, not a repair-shop chain. Be reasonable. If a job's going to take longer than quoted, a good tech will tell you.

QLD Gel Blaster Laws — What Technicians and Owners Need to Know
Gel blasters are legal to own and use in Queensland without a licence — but there are rules around safe storage, transport and age restrictions that every owner should understand. Whether you're sending your blaster to a tech or picking it up, these apply.
- Must be stored securely when not in use
- Must be transported in a bag or case — not openly visible
- Cannot be used in public places outside of designated fields
- Buyers and sellers must both be Queensland residents aged 18+

Frequently Asked Questions — Gel Blaster Tech Work in Queensland
How do I find a trusted gel blaster technician in Queensland?
Word of mouth in the QLD community is the traditional answer — and it still works. The RedSpear Approved Techs directory is built to make that easier. Every tech listed here is Queensland-based and community-known, so you're not rolling the dice on someone you found in a random Facebook group. Browse the directory above, reach out directly, and describe what you need before committing to anything.
What does a gel blaster service or repair typically cost in QLD?
It depends heavily on the job. A basic diagnosis and adjustment might run $30–$60. Standard repairs — replacing a broken part, fixing a feeding issue, or resealing an O-ring — usually fall in the $50–$150 range once parts are included. Full gearbox rebuilds or custom performance builds cost more and vary by tech. Always get a quote before work starts. Any tech worth using will give you one.
Can I mail my gel blaster to a tech in Queensland?
Yes, but do it properly. Pack it securely in a padded bag or hard case, use tracked shipping, and don't leave it sitting in a flimsy satchel. Gel blasters aren't fragile if packed right — but poor packing means damage in transit and nobody's responsible but you. Most techs who accept mail-in jobs will tell you exactly how they want it sent. Ask first.
What's the difference between a repair and an upgrade install?
A repair fixes something that's broken or performing below spec — feeding issues, inconsistent FPS, trigger problems, gearbox failures. An upgrade install puts better parts into a blaster that's working fine but could perform better — a tighter inner barrel, a better hop-up unit, a tuned spring. Some jobs are both: a gearbox strip will often turn up worn parts worth replacing while they're in there anyway. A good tech will flag what they find and ask before doing extra work.
Do RedSpear Approved Techs guarantee their work?
RedSpear doesn't guarantee the work — we vouch for the tech's reputation and community standing, not the outcome of every job. The techs listed here are people we trust based on their track record in the QLD scene. If you have a dispute about work done, that's between you and the tech. Ask about their policy on callbacks before you hand anything over — most reputable techs will stand behind their work for a reasonable period.
