Gel Ball Sorter (Electric)
An electric gel ball sorter that separates your hydrated gels by size before they ever reach a mag. Oversized gels are the ones that jam your T-piece; undersized gels double-feed and tank your accuracy. Run a batch through this first and you load only the gels that are the right size for your setup.
At a glance: electric sorter, $59.95. Separates grown gels into size groups so you load consistent ammo. Sort once at home, play all day with fewer stoppages.
What it actually does for you
Fewer feed jams
Pulls out the oversized gels that cause most stoppages in tighter setups.
Tighter FPS
Same-size gels leave the barrel at closer to the same speed, shot to shot.
Better groups
Consistent size is half the battle for accuracy at range.
Sort once, play all day
Do it at home the night before. No fiddling at the field.
Do you actually need one? (Honest answer)
Not everyone does, and we'd rather tell you that than sell you something that sits in a drawer.
You'll feel it most if you run: tight-bore barrels, HPA, GBB pistols, or a precision/sniper AEG where every jam and flyer costs you.
You'll feel it least if you run: a stock blaster with a loose barrel and standard mags at close-range CQB, where the tolerances are forgiving anyway. If that's you, good gels alone will get you most of the way.
🟣 It's the tail that jams you, not the average
A sorter doesn't make your gels bigger, harder or better. All it does is cut the outliers, and that's the point. A handful of oversized gels causes most of your jams, and a handful of undersized ones causes most of your double-feeds and fliers. The bulk of the batch was always fine. So if you only sort for one thing, sort to suit your tightest mag and barrel, not the average gel. Then prove it on your own setup with the free gel ball testing log before you commit to a size.
How to use it
- Grow your gels fully and drain them (see the growing & storing guide).
- Run them through the sorter and keep the size group that suits your mag and barrel.
- Load the keepers, seal them up, and keep them shaded so they don't shrink before game time.
Quick questions
Does it sort dry or grown gels?
Grown. You hydrate first, then sort by finished size. Dry gels haven't reached their playing size yet.
Will it work with any brand of gel?
Yes, it sorts by size, not brand. It just pairs naturally with Summer Cat gels because they're already well-sorted to start with.
