About Danger Close

Danger Close is a new outdoor gel blaster field at Kooralbyn, in the bush south-west of the Gold Coast. Fresh ground means you're among the first to learn its lines and work out how it plays, and it's been built out properly from the start: an extensive field layout with room to move, a safety briefing before every game, and rentals plus food and drink on site. You can rock up with nothing and still get a full day in.

The terrain does the heavy lifting. You get natural bushland and cover for stalking and ambushes, open paddocks where range and movement come into play, and built structures that turn into the objectives worth fighting over. It's a proper field day out of the city, far enough out to feel like a real mission and close enough to make the drive from the Gold Coast or the Scenic Rim easy.

Games run the full range, from casual skirmish days to objective scenarios and bigger milsim events with roles and storylines. First-timers are sorted with rentals and intro games, families and groups get a solid day out together, and experienced players get the ground to run something serious. If you're in the south-east and after a new field to get stuck into, this is the one to watch.

Getting There

Danger Close is at 62 Ogilvie Place, Kooralbyn — about an hour from the Gold Coast and roughly an hour and a quarter from Brisbane via the Scenic Rim. It's rural, so allow time and check the directions before you set off.
