  • We collect information you provide (name, email, phone, listing details) and basic usage data (cookies/analytics).
  • We process all marketplace payments. Buyers pay through our Shopify checkout. We hold funds and pay sellers out via PayID after confirmed delivery.
  • We collect payment and transaction information as part of operating the marketplace — including listing fees, buyer payments, and seller payouts.
  • We share data with service providers (Shopify, email/analytics tools) to operate the website. We do not sell your data.
  • You can request access to or correction of your personal information at any time.
  • If you have a complaint, contact us or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

What personal information do you collect?

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • Seller submission info: name, email address, mobile number, and any other details provided in your listing submission form
  • Listing info: product details, photos and videos you upload, asking price, condition, pickup location or shipping preferences
  • Payment and transaction info: billing details, PayID details (mobile number or email address used for payout), transaction amounts, listing fees paid, and payout records
  • Buyer info: name, email, shipping address, and payment details collected at checkout via Shopify
  • Communications: messages or enquiries you send us via the contact form or email
  • Technical/usage data: IP address, device/browser info, and site activity via cookies and analytics

Do you collect sensitive information?

We don't ask for sensitive information. Please do not send sensitive personal information through messages or forms.

Do you collect information about children?

RedSpear is intended for 18+ users only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

How do you collect personal information?

We collect information when you:

  • submit a listing via our listing submission form
  • make a purchase through our Shopify checkout
  • provide your PayID details to receive a seller payout
  • contact us via email or the contact form
  • browse the site (cookies/analytics)

4 - Why we collect and use it

What do you use personal information for?

We use it to:

  • operate the website and provide marketplace features
  • review and approve seller listings (moderation and fraud/scam prevention)
  • process buyer payments securely through Shopify checkout
  • hold funds and release seller payouts via PayID on confirmed delivery
  • communicate with sellers about their listings (approval, sale notifications, payout confirmations)
  • communicate with buyers about their purchases and delivery
  • provide support and respond to enquiries
  • maintain transaction and tax records as required by law
  • improve site performance, security, and usability
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our policies

5 - Payments and marketplace model

Do you process payments for marketplace items?

Yes. RedSpear Armory handles all marketplace payments. When a buyer purchases a listing, payment is processed through our Shopify checkout. We hold the funds until delivery is confirmed via tracked shipping, then release the seller's payout (minus our fees) via PayID within 48 hours of confirmed delivery.

What payment information is collected?

Buyer payment details (card information) are processed securely by Shopify and Shopify's payment providers. We do not store full card numbers. Seller payout details (PayID — mobile number or email address) are collected directly by us for the purpose of transferring funds.

What fees are involved?

Sellers pay a 5% success fee is deducted from the seller's payout when their item sells. We retain transaction records of these fees for business and legal purposes.

Please note, there is NO listing fee at all. 

6 - Who we share information with

Who do you disclose personal information to?

We may share personal information with trusted service providers who help us run the site, including:

  • Shopify — e-commerce platform, checkout, and payment processing
  • Shopify payment providers — card processing and payment security
  • Analytics and security providers — website performance and fraud prevention tools
  • Email/support tools — used to communicate with sellers and buyers
  • Law enforcement — if required by law or to investigate fraud or illegal activity

We do not sell personal information.

7 - Overseas disclosures

Is my information stored or processed overseas?

It may be. Some of our service providers (including Shopify) may process or store data on servers located outside Australia (for example, in the United States), depending on their infrastructure. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and protect your personal information.

8 - Cookies and analytics

Do you use cookies?

Yes. Cookies help the site function (preferences, site performance) and help us understand traffic patterns to improve the site. Shopify also uses cookies as part of operating Shopify-powered stores. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect site features.

How do you protect personal information?

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access — including access controls and using reputable, secure service providers such as Shopify for payment processing.

How long do you keep information?

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above — including maintaining transaction records, handling disputes, fraud prevention, and complying with legal and tax obligations. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

How do I make a privacy complaint?

Email support@redspeararmory.com.au with details of your complaint. We'll review and respond within a reasonable timeframe. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Can this policy change?

Yes. We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in how we operate, our fee structure, or changes to applicable law.
