You will feel it most with tight-bore barrels, HPA, GBB pistols, or a precision/sniper AEG where every jam and flyer costs you.
You will feel it least on a stock blaster with a loose barrel and standard mags at close-range CQB, where the tolerances are forgiving anyway. If that is you, good gels alone get you most of the way.

A sorter does not make your gels bigger, harder or better. All it does is cut the outliers, and that is the point. A handful of oversized gels causes most of your jams, and a handful of undersized ones causes most of your double-feeds and fliers. The bulk of the batch was always fine.
