Most conventions and many events run a system called peace-bonding : prop weapons get checked at the door and visibly secured — usually a zip tie or tape marking it as inspected and locking it to the sheath. Turn up knowing this and you’re through in two minutes; turn up not knowing and you’re arguing with security while your mates are inside. A tip cover/cap on the pointed end makes that check even smoother — recommended for any event.
